The individuals, involved citizens
Whether it is to be informed, be trained, be involved, help, give their time, during the holidays or their freetime, the volunteers are every day more numerous to get involved in the international cooperation and solidarity. There are four major volunteers profiles :
Workers of the private sector :
You have technical skills or professional experience which can be passed on.You can give your time and go on a volunteering mission on a project managed by one of Solid'Action’s partners for a minimum of 2 weeks. As part of the International Solidarity Leave, your employer would partly or totally finance the mission during 2 to 3 weeks. depending on the country labor legislation.
Teachers :
You have the appropriate professional experience to give your time and go on an educative, supervision or classes for adults volunteering mission managed by one of Solid'Action’s partners.
Students :
There are more and more University Degrees and Grandes Ecoles where careers in the humanitarian, sustainable development and fair trade business are taught. You can go on a volunteering mission and gain field experience to enhance your curriculum.
Retirees :
You are more and more numerous. You are dynamic and available to go an a volunteering mission and pass on your experience and skills to the needing populations.
The associations network
Whether you are an International Solidary Association or specialize in Solidary Tourism, Migrants or Retirees, you might sometimes need training courses to enhance your teams skills, and be suported in the set-up, evaluation, follow-up without forgetting the help to seek fund for efficient field diagnoses and offer sustainable projects in local development. Your members will also be very motivated to take field action and volunteer to a mission in a Developing Country.
Companies of the private sector : sponsorship
Companies are every day more concerned by Sustainable Development, and hence, by their Social and Environmental Responsibility. Taking action and financing solidary projects, contributing to solidary development and involving their employees allow them to enhance their internal social cohesion. The companies are becoming necessary partners to finance volunteering missions and solidary travels of employees, as well as to train to international solidarity and responsible behavior and raise the awareness of their would-be-traveller employees.
Universities and Grandes Ecoles
The Universities and Grandes Ecoles are teaching professional field players classes within development or the fair trade curriculums. Solid'Action organizes theoretical and practical training courses specialized in the set-up, follow-up and evaluation of projects in international solidarity, fair trade business or solidary tourism. Some volunteering missions can be used as practical field training.
Territorial communities
Whether it is contributing to the financing of some projects in the associative network, sending their agents on volunteering missions, organizing training courses, raising the awareness or mobilizing … the French Territorial Communities (municipalities, departments, regions) are taking active action in the field of international solidarity. Involved in decentralized cooperation programs, they are offering various services to promote solidary mobility.
