Our motivations

History and origins of the project

The idea came to Sonia Virique, project leader and now Manager, when she wanted to go on a volunteering mission for 2-3 months and found out there were very few devices and solutions offered to volunteers over 30.

In order to help those willing to get involved in the international solidarity and to make their dream come true, she decided to set-up this project with the hypothesis of organizing short and average lasting volunteering missions in partnership with Audrey Heinrich, who had the same objective.

2009 was dedicated to the study of the sector and the feasibility of the project … which lead to meet many people and especially Madeleine Lavastre-Vernet who became the 3rd partner in charge of the training courses and project study.

… and the project matured… and the starting hypothesis grew.

This meeting enabled us to acquire more skills and widen the network of the founding team, and to find out that combining complementary services would increase the efficiency of our actions in volunteering missions.

So, we decided to complete and widen our offer of international solidary services, and to start a cooperative of employees, a dynamic and reliable structure named Solid'Action.

 

Our motivations

• Few devices and solutions offered to volunteers over 30, and wish to enable them to realize their increasing will of commitment,

• To make sure that the travellers are leaving with the necessary knowledge to adapt to the behavioral codes of their host countries,

• The expert in development received many requests on development projects from the professional, associative and friendly circles, during 5 years,

• Real need for reinforcement of the capacities of the executives of small associations to make efficient field diagnoses and to seek funds,

• Will to help and be involved in a steady way, by exploiting our competences,

• To actively participate in the decrease of disparities and contribute to the sustainable development,

• To develop a philosophy, a concept, not just a company,

• A personal need to contribute to the development of ‘noble’ and useful projects,

• Inevitable awareness of the situation of developing countries, as well as of the capacities, motivations and existing skills of solidary travellers willing to contribute to the sustainable evolution of the development.
