VOLUNTEERING missions
Our volunteering missions
Our volunteering missions are part of the International Volunteers for Exchange and Solidarity device, which is set-up by the French Voluntary Network (plateforme France Volontaires).
Objective
Our purpose is to send, on a regular basis, volunteers on development projects managed by Associations or Local Communities in order to :
- Support the actions of local players, on a regular basis.
- Meet clearly identified and expressed needs of local partners.
- Bring and share complementary skills.
- Share and exchange experience.
Volunteers contribute to the good development of the projects, without being necessary for the project to survive. It is absolutely not an alternative to the local workforce, but complementary skills to enhance our local partners capacities and take action in the achievement of the project’s objectives.
Together, they share and exchange their skills, experience, know-how and culture in both respect and ethics.
The volunteers must sign a tripartite convention with our local partner and Solid'Action, this document details the commitments and functions of each part.
The volunteers must agree to comply with our ethical charter. In order to help the volunteers to achieve their missions, we set up bilateral or tripartite partnerships with clearly identified local players on every continent (English, French, Spanish and Arabic speaking countries).
Missions and fields of intervention
Solid'Action only takes action in local sustainable development projects. This is no humanitarian action or a situation of crisis requiring pointed skill.
- Creation and Management of the Economic Activity,
- Projects related to Solidary Tourism and Valorization of the Heritage,
- Education, Animation, Teaching,
- Sports coaching.
Missions duration
Solid'Action offers short to average missions of a minimum of 2 weeks, and there will be no compensation .
Solid'Action provides one 2-day obligatory pre-departure training course.
Please note
- The missions can be used as training periods by student volunteers, thus offering them a first professional field experience in a foreign country, which will be a bonus on their resume. The students can also be supervized by a senior in order to complete their field competences.
- The average lasting missions can be used as first field experiences by volunteers willing to get involved in the humanitarian with NGOs in the long term.
